Willemstad—The board meeting and General Assembly of the International Association of Economic Social Councils…

Willemstad—The board meeting and General Assembly of the International Association of Economic Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS) was held in Willemstad, Curaçao, from October 30–31, 2025. The Social Economic Council (SER) of Sint Maarten, serving as a board member representing the Latin America Caribbean region together with the SERs of Aruba and Curacao, participated in the conference.

The delegation of SER Sint Maarten consisted of Chairman Mr. H. Doran, Vice Chairman Mr. J. Coffie, Board Member, Ms. L. Bryson, and Policy Advisor, Mrs. Richelis Williams–van der Mark. The conference gathered delegations from multiple countries, including policymakers and representatives of international organizations. The event underscored Curaçao’s growing international role in promoting multilateral cooperation and policy dialogue. The meeting also marked the conclusion of SER Curaçao’s presidency of AICESIS (2023–2025). The AICESIS represents numerous countries and unites over seventy social and economic councils worldwide.

In his address, Chairman Doran expressed his gratitude to SER Curaçao for its leadership, collaboration, and support throughout its presidency. He also extended best wishes to the SER of Greece, which will assume the AICESIS presidency for the upcoming term of 2025-2027
