Letter of Advice with regard to the indexation of the minimum wages as of January 1st 2013
The SER advises the amendment of the minimum wage ordinance in order to reflect governments intention to let indexation take place on a yearly basis. The SER fully supports this proposal.
Letter of advice LV concerning changes to the Motor vehicle Tax
The SER advises government to focus on efforts to update and interlink government databases in such a way that the taxpayers’ data to be entered into the motor vehicle registration system is ensured to be valid, and will be kept up to date continuously.
National Library Letter Advice
The SER is of the opinion that the establishment of a National Library is of crucial importance for the further development of the country and its people. The Philipsburg Jubilee Library which at the moment mainly functions as a public library should develop into the National Library of Sint Maarten.
Advice Crime Prevention
The Social Economic Council (SER) chooses to advise on the social and economic costs of crime because if these costs are not addressed they will be significantly more severe in the future.
