Born in Amsterdam and raised on Sint Maarten, Cheryll Bute graduated with a Master of Laws degree specialized in International Tax Law at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Alongside her degree in Law, Cheryll is currently rounding off her Master of Laws degree in Constitutional Law at the UvA. While attaining her education abroad, she has completed various internships including locally, an internship at PricewaterhouseCoopers Sint Maarten.
Over the course of the past 5 years Cheryll has worked her way up to tax consultant at a reputable tax advisory and legal firm in the Netherlands. As of August 2020, she has decided to return home to further strengthen the Secretariat of the Social Economic Council of Sint Maarten as legal policy advisor.
