Carla Vlaun

Policy advisor

Carla Vlaun majored in World Politics at Leiden University College where she graduated with her bachelor’s in Liberal Arts & Sciences in 2015.

She continued her studies with a focus on civil and transnational issues at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland, graduating with her Master in International Affairs in 2017. Her disciplinary focuses within both programs were political science, history, and anthropology.

After completing an internship at the Social Economic Council of Sint Maarten in 2017, she returned to the Netherlands to work with Dutch nonprofit organization World Press Photo. In August 2019, Ms. Vlaun returned to St. Maarten to take up a position as policy advisor for the Social Economic Council.
